ASOCIACION DE VETERANOS DE BAHIA DE COCHINOS
BRIGADA 2506

La Asociación de Veteranos de Bahia de Cochinos (Brigada 2506) que representa los hombres del 17 de abril de 1961, conscientes de la responsabilidad histórica que asumieron al desembarcar en Cuba y con el orgullo indescriptible de haber nacido en la Patria de Martí, acompañados por unos pocos extranjeros, a los que no podremos nunca considerar como tales, porque sintieron el dolor de patría como dolor propio, ante el pueblo de Cuba en la isla esclava, ante el exilio, ante la América toda y ante el mundo pronunciamos la siguiente

DECLARACION DE PRINCIPIOS

I. Que reconocemos como única Ley Fundamental de la República de Cuba la Constitución de mil novecientos cuarenta que dice: " Cuba es un estado independiente y soberano organizado como república unitaria y democrática, para el disfrute de la libertad política, la justicia social, el bienestar individual y colectivo y la solidaridad humana" hasta tanto, por un gobierno legítimo y democráticamente elegido, se convoque, si es que el pueblo así lo reclama, a una Asamblea Constituyente donde estén representadas todas las clases del país.

II. Que la Brigada 2506 vigilará muy de cerca este y todos los procesos electorales que se convoquen y que no permitirá en modo alguno, otra vez, la usurpación del poder ya sea por facciones de izquierda, derecha o centro.

III. Que la Brigada 2506 se encuentra dentro de un proceso profundo de reorganización y necesita más que nunca el apoyo moral y la comprensión de todo el exilio, que así lo solicitamos.

IV. Que los hombres de la Brigada 2506 no conocemos lo que es el odio, que nuestra consigna tiene la leyenda de Dios, Patria y Libertad, y en ninguno de los tres conceptos caben sentimientos negativos, pero sí sabemos lo que es justicia.

V. Que la Brigada 2506 es una unidad de combate y como tal, encamina sus pasos a un enfrentamiento directo con el régimen de La Habana, y se debe entender por esto que estamos en guerra contra la tiranía comunista de Cuba y sus colaboradores y que todos los medios que se utilicen para lograrlo deberán ser considerados lícitos.

VI. Que en virtud de todo lo anterior, la Asociación de Veteranos de Bahía de Cochinos (Brigada 2506) rechaza cualquier tipo de diálogo con la dictadura, por entender: (1) que no existe posibilidad de arreglo con la tiranía -- que no queremos tampoco – porque lo consideramos indigno; (2) que el diálogo, además de ser inoperante, significa entrega y rendición, y no dispuestos a olvidar a los mártires y a claudicar en nuestro empeño libertador.

VII. Que la Brigada 2506 apoya total y absolutamente el embargo que se mantiene contra Cuba y rechaza de modo categórico que se culpe de él al gobierno norte- americano, cuando lo cierto es que el régimen comunista de Cuba es el único responsable de la agonía de nuestro pueblo.

VIII. Que la Brigada 2506 no permitirá ninguna injerencia extranjera, sea cual fuere, que viole la soberania de Cuba, ni tolerara que se menoscabe la figura del poder ejecutivo con injerencias por parte de la rama militar.

IX. Que los hombres de Girón reconocemos y agradecemos la ayuda y el apoyo que los gobiernos de EE.LTU han brindado al exilio cubano, aunque es necesario que estos reconozcan, la deuda contraída con la Brigada 2506 el 17 de Abril de 1961.

X. Que la Constitución de 1940 que defendemos, en su Artículo 3, párrafo 2, dice: "La República no concertará ni ratificará pactos o tratados que en forma alguna limiten o menoscaben la soberanía nacional o la integridad de su territorio."

XI. Que en virtud de lo anterior, la Brigada 2506 advierte muy serenamente a los gobiernos y empresas privadas que de una manera u otra comercien con el gobierno de La Habana, que consideraremos inexistentes todas las deudas contraídas por el régimen cubano, y que las construcciones que se hayan realizado o se realicen en Cuba se consideren como propiedades del Estado.

XII. Que la Brigada 2506 advierte que nada ni nadie tiene derecho, ni podrá impedir nuestra posición ni obstaculizar la razón que nos asiste a luchar por la libertad de nuestra patría.

The Bay of Pigs Veterans' Association (2506 Assault Brigade) which represents the men who, conscious of the historic responsibility they assumed when they disembarked in Cuba on April 17, 1961, and with the indescribable pride of having been born in the country of José Marti, and also accompanied by a handful of foreigners that we cannot consider as such, because they felt the pain of our country as if it were their own, come before enslaved the Cuban people, before the exile, before all of America and before the world to make the following

I. That we recognize as the only foundamental law of the Republic of Cuba the Constitution of 1940 which says: " Cuba is an independent and sovereign state organized as a unitarian democratic republic for the enjoyment of polítical freedom, social justice, individual and collective well-being and human solidarity" until, if so the people request, and under the auspice of a government legitimately and democrátically elected, a constitutional assembly is called where all social classes in the country will be represented.

II. That the 2506 Brigade will closely keep, watch on this and all electoral processes which may be called and will not permit in any way, the overthrow of the elected government by any faction, be it of the left, right or center.

III. That the 2506 Brigade is undergoing a thorough process of reorganization and more than ever needs the moral support and the understanding of the exile community. We request this support and understanding.

IV. That the men of the 2506 Brigade do not know the meaning of hate, as our motto is for God, Country and Liberty, and none of these concepts can embrace negative feelings. But we do know the meaning of justice.

V. That the 2506 Brigade is a combat unit and as such its path leads to direct confrontation with the Havana regime, so it must be understood that we are at war with the Cuban comunist tyranny and its colaborators and whatever means are used must be considered licit.

VI. By virtue of all the above, the Veterans Association of the Bay of Pigs( 2506 Brigade) rejects any type of dialog with the dictatorship, as it is our understanding that: (1) there is no possibility of reaching an agreement with the tyranny—which we don’t want—as it would be degrading; (2) that a dialog, besides being inoperable, means surrender, and we will not forget our martyrs and give up our firm intent to liberate our country.

VII. That the 2506 Brigade supports totally and absolutely the embargo against Cuba and rejects categorically that the american government be blamed for the agony of our people, when in fact the Cuban comunist regime is soley responsible for such agony.

VIII. That the 2506 Brigade will not permit any type of foreign interference to violate Cuban sovereignty, nor will it tolerate the impairment of the executive power by military interference.

IX. That the men from Playa Giron recognize and appreciate the help and support the U.S. government has given the cuban exile, although it is necessary that they recognize the debt contracted with the 2506 Brigade on April 17, 1961.

X. That the 1940 Constitution we defend, in Article 3, paragraph 2, says " The Republic will not negotiate or ratify pacts or treaties that will in any way limit or impair the national sovereignty or the integrity of its territory".

XI. That in virtue of all the above, the 2506 Brigade warns those foreign governments, or private enterprises which in one way or another trade with the Havana government, that we will not acknowledge any previous debts incurred by the Cuban regime and that any construction completed or in progress will be considered as property of the State.

XII. That the 2506 Brigade warns that they will not allow obstacles to be placed in the path of our fight for freeing our country.
